SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT: Paisley Baby

Today we have chosen Paisley Baby as our Sunday Spotlight shop! If you or someone you know will be having a baby, check out their shop to get some cute, handmade gifts for the little one! Paisley Baby also makes cute cosmetic bags, wet bags, and handbags!

Etsy: Your place to buy & sell all things handmade
BodyRush.etsy.com

1.) What is your shop name & URL?
My shop name is Paisley Baby - paisleybaby.etsy.com

2.) What types of items do you sell?
We sell handcrafted baby accessories and an assortment of handbags (totes, purses, cosmetic bags, wet bags, etc.)

3.) How did you first hear about Etsy?
I can't remember how I first heard about etsy :-) I think it was through the cloth diapering world or in a sewing mothers forum.

4.) What are 3 of your favorite items?
Our wet bags, hooded towels, and bamboo handle purses.

5.) How do you promote your shop?
We promote our shop by participating in local craft shows, some advertising, sending out press releases, flickr, facebook, the etsy forums, indiepublic, marmalade pink, Can-eh? Can-Artistry website, give-aways on product review sites, pretty much anything we can!

6.) Aside from creating things for Etsy, what else do you enjoy doing?
I have two young children so I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, online window shopping, exercising and doing sports, and trying to find time to start my own blog!

7.) Anything else you would like to add?
I would like to thank Kendra (BodyRush) for featuring me on her blog. I am so happy that I found etsy because in addition to all the gorgeous things you can buy here, it is a fantastic community of talented artists and crafters. The etsy seller's community has provided us with all kinds of valuable business information: how to take great pictures, how to provide great customer service, all kinds of marketing info (pricing, etc.), and so much more more. Thank you again!

Sunday - Sunday Spotlight; Every Sunday I will feature ONE shop from Etsy or outside of Etsy who has items that capture my attention and spark my interest.

ALSO - On the 1st and 15th of every month I will have a PAYDAY SPLURGE topic. It will consist of indie items over $100 from Etsy shops as well as shops outside of Etsy.

Beer Soap!

I made some beer soap last week. In case you do not know what that is, it is SOAP made with BEER! Normally, soap is made using water; however, when you sub the water for beer you get beer soap! The hops in beer is said to be good for skin and hair, plus it just makes a great gift for that beer connoisseur in your life! I have never smelled hops, but my husband has and he said that's what it smells like. To me, it just smells sweet. It is lightly scented with a GREAT Coconut fragrance while still allowing the natural scent to come through. My husband LOVES it so this would be a great gift for men. It will be for sale on October 7th at my Etsy Shop so if you are interested in purchasing this soap, be sure to check it out!! Here is a "SNEAK PEEK" picture!

Advertising

We have several options for advertising opportunities!

Project Wonderful - Coming Soon!
(will be available once this blog meets requirements)
  • A simple, cost-effective way to advertise. Project Wonderful is based on a "bidding process" so while you may get a cheap advertisement space, your ad may not show up for as long as you had hoped for. Once this blog meets the requirements to be a Project Wonderful publisher, you will see the option to purchase ad space on the far right hand column.

125X125 Banner Ad - $5.00/month
(click here to purchase this ad space)
  • Instead of purchasing ad space through Project Wonderful, you purchase it through me via PayPal. Plus, it's still affordable! Your ads are placed on the far right hand column of this blog within 24 hours of receiving your banner image and expire after 30 days. Ads are placed in the order they are received and your ad will be bumped up once the one(s) above you expire. To purchase, simply click the "Buy Now!" link and you will be transferred to PayPal's secure website. After purchasing this advertising option, please email your 125x125 banner to advertising@bodyrushbath.com Static (still) and animated banners are allowed. If you need a banner designed for you, please contact me at the email address listed above and I can create one for you for a small fee. Buy Now!

Blog Giveaways
(click here to sponsor a giveaway)
  • I will gladly host giveaways on my blog for FREE. The only cost to you will be the value of the item you are giving away + shipping costs. You may give away 1 item or 100, we don't care! To host a give away, please fill out the form by clicking the link below:
Giveaway sponsors are responsible for getting the prize to the product winner. We ask that you ship the product(s) within one week after the giveaway contest ends. I, Kendra, am not responsible nor liable for products that do not get sent to the recipient. If you, the giveaway sponsor, fail to hold up to your end of the bargain, you will never be allowed to sponsor another giveaway on this blog. There are exceptions, of course, for extreme circumstances (death, birth, family crisis, accident, etc). If for some reason you are not able to send the giveaway item, please contact me as well as the winner as soon as possible. I appreciate your cooperation!

Product Reviews
  • If I purchase something from an indie business/seller I will occasionally do reviews about them -if I think they are worth it! I do not get paid and will not accept money for my reviews. My product reviews are not swayed by any outside factors - it is my honest opinion.
  • HOWEVER, if you have a product you would like for me to review, I will accept samples. I know not all products can be made in to sample sizes so if you have something you would really like for me to review, email me at the following address and we will try to work something out! Who knows, I may like it enough to purchase it anyway! Please contact me at advertising@bodyrushbath.com for more information.

Welcome!

Well, this is my very first post on Blogspot! I had a blog previously at http://bathandbeautyblog.com but I wanted one at Blogger instead. I don't know why, I just did, so here I am! I have carried some of the posts from my previous blog over to this one and you can view those BELOW this post. I will start off by telling you what all this blog will be about...

- I am the owner and creator behind Body Rush Bath & Body Care Products. I have a shop on Etsy (click) and my own online store (click). I will talk about my current product line as well as up-coming products, fragrances, etc. I will talk about some of my processes, frustrations, and excitements!

- I will also feature other Etsians who have products that I have either tried and loved or ones that have products I think are neat and would be interested in.

- I will also talk about my family life every now and then.

Want to get to know me a little better? I thought so! HA! My name is Kendra. I married my other half, Jeremy, on June 25, 2006. Six months later, we found out I was pregnant - 1 month before he deployed to Baghdad, Iraq for 15 LONG months. Yep, he's in the Army and we are stationed up here at Fort Riley, KS. Fortunately, his contract with the Army expires in December and we are headed back to our home state of good ol' Arkansas! Anyway, our son, Aiden, was born on September 10, 2007 and just recently had his 1st birthday!

I am a work at home mom to our son. I am very fortunate and grateful that I am able to do this. I love being able to devote the majority of my time to Aiden. I know I will not always be able to do this so I want to take advantage of it while I can! Someday, even if I still am formulating bath & body products, I may (WISH! WISH!) have a retail store and have to work away from home.

That is really all I can think to say about myself. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

If you need to get a hold of me for any reason - questions, comments, complaints, ANYTHING - please email me at kendra@bodyrushbath.com

The posts below are a few from my previous blog, http://bathandbeautyblog.com.

FRIDAY FIND: Grumpy Girl's Acid Trip Soap

I was browsing the Bath & Beauty section on Etsy and found the neatest bar of soap I think I have ever seen.

The picture above is the slab of soap before it is cut into bars. How amazing is that? This soap is the creative work of GrumpyGirl.etsy.com and I think it is just beautiful. It's called Acid Trip and is priced at $6.95. This bar weighs between 6-7 ounces - that's a pretty good sized bar of soap! I think this soap would look great in a guest bathroom or even your own bathroom! It would also make a great gift, especially for someone who loves lots of color! I am this close to purchasing a bar for myself, but I think I would have a hard time using it because it's so pretty! I might just let it sit on the counter for a while and hopefully I'll get tired of looking at it and won't feel bad about using it! Haha :) Go check out Grumpy Girl's shop for some more pretty soaps she has listed. This girl is a very talented soap maker!
